After 48 years, KingsportARTS (formerly

Arts Council of Greater Kingsport) will be closing our doors on June 30, 2016.

We have enjoyed the years of serving our community and deeply appreciate our students, donors, volunteers, teaching

artists, sponsors, and grantors.

We will have an office sale July 29 and 30 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day, 1200 East Center Street, Kingsport, second floor, suite 216. We will be selling our art

collection, office furniture, office supplies,

art supplies, etc. Everything must go so

take advantage of this opportunity to

support KingsportARTS one last time.

Summer Arts Camps
for age 3 to rising grade 5

Arts4Kids Camp  for age 3 - grades K-5

A Horse of a Different Color

June 13-17, 2016 – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

$100 for preschoolers (age 3-5) half day, 8 a.m. 

until 12 noon

$200 for rising grades K-5, full day, bring a bag lunch and drink


Students will use horses as the main subject matter

as they learn to draw, paint, and sculpt realistic and abstract interpretations of horses in a variety of media. We will have a real horse here 1 or 2 days, depending on the weather.

Paint the Town 5K Road Race/Walk

Start Time: 2 p.m. on Yadkin Street next to the Renaissance Center
Course will take participants through the beautiful surrounding neighborhoods with one water station. Electronic timing and professional race management by We Run Events.
This is a fundraiser to benefit our Youth Arts Education Programs
First 65 registered will receive a T-shirt (sizes are limited) all others will receive a very nice PET Sports Bottle.
Awards are medals, Top Overall Male & Female and Top Three Male & Female in each Age Group.

Christmas in July
Come to these four July workshops
and make decorations for one of the Christmas  trees at the Tennessee Governor's Residence.This years
theme is Tennessee Artisans and Craftsmen. All the trees in
Conservation Hall will be decorated
with children's art.

Workshops are every Monday in July.

The morning workshop, 10 a.m.-12
noon, is for youth in grades K-5.

Afternoon workshop, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.,
is for youth in grades 6-12.

Workshops are $15 each or register
for all four for only $50.

Decorations will be returned after the holidays.

Summer Arts Camp

KEYPAD Campers (rising 6th-12th grade) will be creating their own short films.
Campers will write scripts, film, act, edit, and create marketing for their films,
which will be shown at a film festival on Friday, June 13 at 5:30 p.m.

Camp takes place in the Renaissance Arts Center & Theatre located at
1200 East Center Street in Kingsport, TN.

Rising 6th-12th grade:
June 9 - 13, 2014
8 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Early drop off at 7:30 a.m.
Cost: $300
       *Students will need to bring a lunch

Given the nature of this camp, campers should not wear “good clothes”. Camper

should bring a lunch every day.  While Arts Camp is designed to be a

fun and creative learning opportunity, it is important that campers respect the time

and talents of the instructors and fellow campers. Disruptive behavior will NOT be tolerated.


The Camp will end Friday evening with Film Premiere starting at 5:30 p.m.

This event will be free and open to the public.


Payment is due with registration and is non-refundable. Registration is confirmed

upon receipt of application and payment. Payment and registration is available

Kindergarten Readiness Program
Class of 2013
Registration is now open for our Kindergarten Readiness Program. This program will teach Pre-Kindergarten skills such as ABC's, 123's, Shapes, Colors, Spatial Recognition, Reading Skills and more; and this is all done through the arts.

This program will meet August-May on Fridays. This program is $50 per month.
For students entering Kindergarten in 2014 classes are 8:45 am  to 9:45 am or 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm.
For Students entering Kindergarten in 2015 classes are 11:15 am to 12:15 pm or 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The ART We Talented program (18 months to 5 years) consists of art workshops for young children which encourages artistic freedom and cognitive thoughts through hands on activities. Students in this program will be learning things such as colors, ABC's, 123's, shapes, patterns, spatial recognition, and all through the arts (Visual: 2D and 3D, Dance, Music, Theatre). These workshops occur the 2nd Friday of every month from 10-11 a.m. and cost $10 per child per class. This fee includes all materials as well as instructor's fees.

The Arts4Kids program (ages 6 - 12) is an introductory art workshop series designed to introduce children to a variety of arts (music, performance, dance and visual) and encourage their lifelong pursuit of creative endeavors.

Students in this program will begin to learn specific art forms, artist and artistic movements. Elements of English, Math, Science and History are included in these workshops as well.

These workshops occur the 3rd Saturday of every month from 1-3 p.m. and cost $15 per student per class. This fee includes all materials as well as instructor’s fees.

K.E.Y.P.A.D. (KingsportARTS Empowering Youth by Participation in Arts Discovery) is to ages 13-18. This program consists of advanced art workshops designed to further expand youth's knowledge in various art forms and apply them to real world situations. These classes are taught by local college professors in the arts as well as local professional artists. These workshops occur the 2nd Saturday of every month from Noon-4 p.m. and cost $25 per student per class. This fee includes all materials as well as instructor's fees.
